The apartment is on the 3rd floor and the building has an elevator. Please take note that to reach the elevator you need to walk up exactly 7 stairs in the entrance. Beautiful 5 room apartment in a traditional building from 1903, equipped with kitchen, 4 separate bedrooms and a living/bedroom. Of course there are also a bathroom as well as two separate toilets for private and sole use. The apartment is located in the 9th Vienna district named Alsergrund, well known for its very lucky combination of historical architecture as well as cultural and vibrant atmosphere. The neighbourhood has plenty to offer. Let me give you a brief impression of what you can go for within a 3 max. 10 minutes walk: Places to eat & drink: Omnom Burger (daily fresh burgers with regional ingredients and a focus on organic) Good Morning Vietnam (restaurant) Gasthaus Lechner (delicious typical Austrian food at low-cost, our absolute insiders tip) Tulsi (Indian restaurant) Cafe Clash ("Beisl", kind of extension of your living room) Café Weimar (very traditional cafe) Our favourite: Café Schopenhauer (revitalised classical Viennese cafe including a bookstore) Ristorante Francesco (Italian pizza and food) Statt Beisl at WUK (cultural centre, events) Swing Kitchen (vegan burgers, wraps and fries) Beaver Brewing Company (craft beer, American food, pub quiz) Sanchez (tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas we love them) Tao Mini Bar (excellent Asian food) Daily needs & more (across the street or nearby): Supermarket: Billa and SPAR 2 trendy bakeries: Öfferl and Joseph Brot (very good, but rather pricey) Kutschkermarkt (daily market for fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, meat and fish as well as flowers culinary oasis) Hellenic Market (Greek supermarket) Sport Zimmer (personal trainer & sports scientist): e.g. calisthenics Yoga Stelle (yoga studio) Creative florist: Blumen(be)handlung - just around the corner drugstore general hospital cash terminal tobacconist Spielwaren Heinz (family games & toy shop) Hartliebs Bücher (wonderful bookshop) Herzilein (lovely clothes for children, handmade as well as charming collection of paper and gifts) Neubauer Mode (green fashion store) Humana (second hand clothes) Since the Währinger Gürtel is one of Vienna's main traffic arteries, there is some noise from passing traffic, but you benefit from great transport connections. Situated across the street is the underground (line U6) and tram station (line 40, 41 and 42), a city-bike station is found around the corner. The city centre can be reached within 10 minutes. Don t miss (about 15 min by tram or the like): Campus of the University of Vienna (area of the former General Hospital) is not only a place of study and work, but also a popular green oasis for those seeking relaxation as well as exhibitions, parties, sports events and others. Cycling enthusiasts can take advantage of Citybike Wien, Vienna's bike-sharing program. In summer season: to escape the heat in town we recommend Strombad Kritzendorf (about 20min by train) always good for a refreshing kick in river Danube In winter season: ice skating on top of a building with panorama view at Kunsteisbahn Engelmann Sightseeing & culture: Vienna Volksoper, one of the city's opera houses The Palais Liechtenstein, built in the late 17th century, a Baroque palace The Votivkirche, or Votive Church, a stunning Neo-Gothic church Beethoven s Former Residence, one oft he most famous German composers Votiv Kino, one of the oldest cinemas in town, built in 1912 Vienna s English Theatre since 1963 Sightseeing by tram along the most beautiful boulevard, the Vienna s Ringstrasse - 5,3km long - with its monumental buildings such as Vienna State Opera, Imperial Palace/Neue Burg, Musem of Natural History, Museum of Art History, Parliament, City Hall, National Theatre and University
