Its population density is 56.9 inhabitants per km² Lomba da Fazenda is a parish in the municipality of Nordeste, on the island of São Miguel, Azores. The story goes that long before it was a parish, this place was an agricultural property, called "Fazenda" by its then owner. Between the source and the mouth of Ribeira do Guilherme, there is a lost oasis in the middle of Lomba da Fazenda, the Botanical Garden of Ribeira do Guilherme. This garden consists essentially of Laurissilva, the predominant vegetation of the Macaronesian forests. Along the route of the river it is also possible to see numerous waterfalls, which run old mills and supply lakes. In the final section of the same river, the place called Boca da Ribeira was used for the construction of a campsite and some saltwater pools by the sea. A few minutes from the botanical garden we find another place rich in vegetation and wonderful landscapes, the Pelado Park. But it is not only the endemic wealth that can be appreciated here. At the end of the park reaching the coast, you discover the Miradouro do Pelado. The viewpoint offers views over an immense landscape of land and sea and also the possibility of studying the geological structure of the place where it is inserted. Lomba da Fazenda was one of the first parishes in the municipality of the Northeast to recover immovable heritage for housing tourism, having today a high quality tourist offer.
