"A Lenda do Palácio sem portas"
No caminho para Odiáxere, perto de Lagos, havia em tempos uma horta e dentro desta um prédio alto muito estranho. Não tinha uma única abertura: janelas e portas eram falsas e telhado também, e constava que a bizarra construção durou alguns séculos sem que alguém dele fizesse uso.
A horta da nossa lenda pertencia a uma pobre família que nada mais possuía e que habitava nuns casebres, sobrevivendo com grande dificuldade, recorrendo ao cultivo da terra.
Quando a família para lá se mudou, um estranho mouro começou a aparecer à mulher sempre que não havia ninguém por perto, acenando-lhe para que se aproximasse.
Assustada, ela fugia, no entanto o mouro seguia-a sempre até casa.
Um dia, cansada e extremamente assustada, a mulher resolveu contar tudo ao marido. Ele, esperto, recordando outros relatos que já ouvira, apercebeu-se de imediato que se tratava de um mouro encantado, em busca de ajuda.
Desta forma, convenceu a sua mulher a ouvi-lo. A mulher assim o fez. Quando o mouro se abeirou dela, ela perguntou o que pretendia ele e calmamente o mouro explicou-lhe que havia muito tempo que estava encantado, à espera de quem o ajudasse.
Mais, referiu ainda que quem o desencantasse receberia um tesouro em ouro e pedras preciosas.
Eufórica a mulher quis saber como o poderia ajudar, tendo o mouro pedido a construção de um edifício com portas e janelas que não pudessem ser abertas e telhado sem telha. De seguida, prosseguiu, assim deveria permanecer o edifício durante cem anos, sem que ninguém dele fizesse uso.
Desalentada, a mulher voltou a casa, contando tudo ao marido. Na verdade, não tinham dinheiro para nada, sem falar no facto da chacota que sofreriam por parte das pessoas vizinhas.
Apesar disso, o marido não hesitou:
-Avancemos mulher! Trabalharemos afincadamente para construir esse prédio, empenhando o que for preciso!
Assim fizeram. Depois de muito tempo de sacrifício, o prédio ficou pronto e um dia, o mouro voltou a aparecer à mulher. Depois, levantando uma enorme laje que havia no chão e na qual ela nunca reparara, revelou um tesouro cheio de ouro e jóias.
Cumprindo a sua palava, entregou-o à mulher, despedindo-se dela com um beijo.
Porém, o beijo não era inocente. Era um beijo de fogo que logo lhe queimou a garganta, de tal forma, que ela não mais conseguiu ingerir alimentos sólidos. Passados meses de sofrimento atroz, deixou de lutar. Fechou os olhos e morreu...
Marido e filhos choraram a sua morte, mas o tempo cumpriu o seu papel, aliviando a dor até a esquecerem, ficando ricos e felizes.
Quanto ao prédio, continuou intacto e estranho, mais de cem anos pelo que dizem, já que na verdade os seus proprietários não quiseram correr o risco de ver evaporar-se a sua fortuna.

The garden in our legend belonged to a poor family that owned nothing else and lived in hovels, surviving with great difficulty, resorting to cultivating the land.
When the family moved there, a strange Moor began to appear to the woman whenever no one was around, beckoning her to come closer.
Frightened, she ran away, however the Moor always followed her home.
One day, tired and extremely scared, the woman decided to tell her husband everything. He, a smart man, remembered other reports he had already heard and realized immediately that it was an enchanted Moor, in search of help.
In this way, he convinced his wife to listen to him. The woman did so. When the Moor approached her, she asked what he wanted and the Moor calmly explained that he had been enchanted for a long time, waiting for someone to help him.
Moreover, he also mentioned that whoever disenchanted him would receive a treasure in gold and precious stones.
Euphoric, the woman wanted to know how she could help him, and the Moor asked for the construction of a building with doors and windows that could not be opened and a roof without tiles. Then, he went on, this is how the building should remain for a hundred years, without anyone making use of it.
Disheartened, the woman returned home, telling her husband everything. In fact, they had no money for anything, not to mention the fact that they would be mocked by the neighbors.
Despite this, the husband did not hesitate:
- Let's go woman! We will work hard to build this building, putting in whatever it takes!
So they did. After a long time of sacrifice, the building was ready and one day, the Moor appeared to the woman again. Then, lifting a huge slab from the ground and which she had never noticed, he revealed a treasure trove full of gold and jewels.
True to his word, he handed it to the woman, kissing her goodbye.
However, the kiss was not innocent. It was a fiery kiss that soon burned her throat in such a way that she was no longer able to ingest solid food. After months of atrocious suffering, she stopped fighting. She closed her eyes and died...
Husband and children mourned her death, but time played its role, relieving the pain until they forgot it, becoming rich and happy.
As for the building, it remained intact and strange, more than a hundred years according to what they say, since in fact its owners did not want to run the risk of seeing their fortune evaporate.
