I’ve been living in this apartment for the past seven years, sharing it with a longtime friend who is now moving back to Mexico. So, after a very long time, I’m looking for someone new to share the place with! The apartment is unusually
large for a two-person share in Madrid, especially by today’s standards. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of different living areas, which makes it a great apartment to share: there’s enough space for both people to have their own lives without constantly being on top of each other (check out the video). The location is also one of the best things about it. It’s right between Malasaña and Chamberí, so you can walk pretty much everywhere, with some of Madrid’s best restaurants, bars, galleries, museums and neighbourhood life on the doorstep. I’m looking for a long-term flatmate who is in a similar stage of life to me: independent, with a stable professional and financial situation, and looking for a proper home rather than just a room for a few months. A little about me: I work in the luxury travel industry for a Canadian company, which means I travel quite a lot and am often away for extended periods throughout the year. When I’m in Madrid, I work from home, so I’m specifically looking for someone who normally works outside the apartment rather than another full-time remote worker. The atmosphere at home is calm and relaxed. It’s definitely not a party flat, although having friends over for dinner or the occasional gathering is absolutely welcome. It would be nice to genuinely get along, have a glass of wine or dinner together occasionally, and feel comfortable sharing a home. The building itself is very local. Most of our neighbours are Spanish and many have lived here for years. Short-term/(hidden) rentals aren’t allowed, so it still feels like a real residential building rather than a tourist apartment block. One important note: I’m the current tenant, not the owner of the apartment. Any new flatmate will therefore need to be approved by the landlord, and the final decision will be theirs. Ultimately, I’m looking for someone easygoing, respectful and independent, who is settled in Madrid or planning to be here long-term and who wants this to feel like their home too.Details
