Todavía hoy, aquel que transita por los caminos que marcaron aquellos hombres ayudados por mulas, que transportaban los pesados fardos de corcho, puede observar los alcornoques sin la parte baja de su corteza, que ha sido 'pelada' por los pocos recolectores de corcho que quedan en la zona.
