The Martesana Canal gives this part of Milan its distinctive character: the towpath is somewhere to go for a morning run, an evening walk or a weekend bike ride. Follow the canal towards Gorla and continue in the direction of Via Melchiorre Gioia, or cycle towards Crescenzago and the towns northeast of Milan. It is a pleasant way to discover the city beyond its most familiar visitor routes. The surrounding streets bring together courtyards, buildings reflecting the area’s industrial past and local businesses. Along nearby Via Padova, you will find food shops, everyday services and restaurants serving different cuisines. On Via Meucci itself, Villa Pallavicini is a local community and cultural venue. When you stay for a few months, these everyday places become familiar: your coffee stop, the shop you visit on your way home and your favourite stretch of canal for a walk. A useful location for work, research and professional training: For business travellers, Via Meucci is particularly worth considering for commitments in northeastern Milan. The Via Vipiteno and Via Werner von Siemens area is home to Siemens and Siemens Healthineers, including the Training Center, making the location relevant for guests attending professional courses and training. RCS MediaGroup is based on Via Rizzoli, while the Bicocca district combines university facilities with companies including Pirelli, Prysmian and ENGIE. Further north, Sesto San Giovanni is home to ABB offices and the Campari Group head(hidden), other destinations to consider for meetings or assignments in this part of the city. For doctors, medical trainees, researchers and healthcare professionals, there are also two separate locations to keep in mind: San Raffaele Hospital on Via Olgettina, alongside Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, and San Raffaele Turro, on Via Stamira d’Ancona. - Getting around by public transport - Local bus routes provide access to several metro stations. Bus 44 connects Ponte Nuovo with Gorla M1, Crescenzago M2 and Cascina Gobba M2. Bus 53 runs towards Udine and Lambrate, while bus 56, along Via Padova, reaches Loreto, where the M1 and M2 lines meet.
