Tanto pelo mar azul, como pelos campos ondulantes repletos de pomares de árvores típicas como a amendoeira, figueira ou alfarrobeira. Praia Grande e Praia da Angrinha (37.121883, -8.523201) No fundo são a mesma extensão de areia dividido pelo Castelo de São João do Arade, que foi construído naquela zona exatamente para vigiar as duas praias. Estão situadas em pleno rio Arade, com vista para os grandes molhes que abrandam a força do mar naquela zona. Sentados na areia conseguimos ver a Marina de Portimão no outro lado da margem. Esta praia tem uma passadeira de madeira ao longo da maior parte do areal, que permite o acesso de todos, incluindo carrinhos de bebé ou pessoas com mobilidades reduzida. Na zona da Angrinha, o areal é mais pequeno parecendo-se mais com uma praia fluvial com as casas piscatórias atrás. Existe zona de estacionamento, restaurantes, WC e apoios recreativos. Na zona da Praia Grande existe vigilância de salva-vidas na época balnear: 01 Jun a 30 de Setembro. Praia do Molhe (37.110060, -8.519150) É uma pequena praia que está junto ao molhe nascente do Rio Arade. O acesso é feito por uma escadaria íngreme escavada na falésia. Estas rochas de cores quentes, estão em contínuo desgaste natural e é possível observar blocos caídos na areia, consequência de desmoronamentos. Na superfície das rochas existe vegetação que faz um agradável contraste de cor. As águas são muito calmas devido à proximidade do molhe no lado rio. Já no lado do mar é frequente haver ondas e surfistas na água. Habitualmente não tem salva-vidas. Praia do Pintadinho (37.107796, -8.518831) É o início das praias marítimas do concelho de Lagoa. Aqui saímos da zona de rio e sossego dos molhes em direcção à Ponta do Altar, um pontal estreito e comprido onde existe um farol. Nesta praia a vegetação chega até à areia, estando a praia emoldurada numa mancha de vegetação: palmeiras, tomilho, sargaço, etc. Ao olhar para as rochas vai ver claramente as diferentes cores, que resultam da erosão marinha nestas pedras calcárias. É muito bonito! Na arriba a norte da praia existem 2 arcos e grutas onde pode passear e tirar fotografias. Os miúdos vão adorar. A praia tem restaurante, WC e vigilância na época de verão. Praia do Torrado (37.105824, -8.515527) É um pequeno areal a nascente da do Farol da Ponta do Altar. É um local de extrema beleza natural, pouco frequentado. Na linha do horizonte encontram-se duas rochas no meio do mar, chamados leixões. Um mais pequeno junto à areia e outro mais ao fundo: o Leixão da Gaivotas, pois são as aves marinhas os seus únicos habitantes. Podem ver-se corvos-marinhos, garças e gaivotas. O acesso à praia é de barco ou a pé através da praia dos Caneiros, apenas quando a maré está baixa. Praia dos Caneiros (37.105030, -8.513719) Com vista para o Farol e para o Leixão das Gaivotas, esta praia tem muito mais areia e acesso de carro. A beleza desta praia reside no enquadramento das rochas e das muitas grutas para explorar a pé. Numa zona de desmoronamentos antigos as rochas estão espalhadas até à água, deixando pequenos peixes e moluscos nas poças quando a maré desce. A praia tem restaurante, WC e vigilância na época de verão. Existem ainda outras pequenas praia como a Afurada ou a praia do Mato, de menor dimensão que pode explorar durante a sua estadia em Ferragudo.

The city is located near some of the best beaches in the Algarve : Albandeira, Benagil, Carvoeiro and Marinha. These magical beaches are famous for their colorful cliffs and crystal clear waters. As a beach destination, Ferragudo has strong attraction points, and will be amazed by its beauty that attracts both visitors, especially in summer. Both by the blue sea, as well as by the rolling fields filled with orchards of typical trees such as almond, fig or carcerbeira. Praia Grande and Praia da Angrinha (37.121883, -8.523201) In the background are the same stretch of sand divided by the Castle of São João do Arade, which was built in that area exactly to watch the two beaches. They are situated in the middle of the Arade River, overlooking the large wets that slow the strength of the sea in that area. In the Area of Praia Grande there is surveillance of lifeguards in the bathing season: 01 Jun to 30 September. Praia do Molhe (37.110060, -8.519150) It is a small beach that is next to the spring jetty of the Arade River. Access is made by a steep staircase carved into the cliff. These rocks of warm colors, are in continuous natural wear and it is possible to observe blocks fallen into the sand, as a consequence of landslides. On the surface of the rocks there is vegetation that makes a pleasant contrast of color. The waters are very calm due to the proximity of the jetty on the river side. On the sea side there are often waves and surfers in the water. There's usually no lifeguard. Pintadinho Beach (37.107796, -8.518831) It is the beginning of the sea beaches of the municipality of Lagoa. Here we leave the river area and quiet of the wetties towards Ponta do Altar, a narrow and long point where there is a lighthouse. On this beach the vegetation reaches the sand, being the beach framed in a patch of vegetation: palm trees, thyme, sargasso, etc. When looking at the rocks you will see clearly the different colors, which result from marine erosion in these limestones. It's very nice! On the cliff north of the beach there are 2 arches and caves where you can stroll and take pictures. The kids are going to love it. The beach has restaurant, toilet and surveillance in the summer season. Torrado Beach (37.105824, -8.515527) It is a small sand to the source of the Ponta do Altar Lighthouse. It is a place of extreme natural beauty, little frequented. On the horizon line are two rocks in the middle of the sea, called leixões. A smaller one by the sand and another further down: the Leixão da Gaivotas, because seabirds are the only inhabitants. You can see cormorants, herons and seagulls. Access to the beach is by boat or on foot through the beach of Caneiros, only when the tide is low. Praia dos Caneiros (37.105030, -8.513719) Overlooking the Lighthouse and Leixão das Gaivotas, this beach has much more sand and car access. The beauty of this beach lies in the setting of the rocks and the many caves to explore on foot. In an area of ancient landslides the rocks are scattered to the water, leaving small fish and molluscs in the puddles when the tide comes down. The beach has restaurant, toilet and surveillance in the summer season. There are also other small beaches such as Afurada or Mato beach, which you can explore during your stay in Ferragudo.
