I’m looking for a roommate to fill the second bedroom in my Ridgewood apartment. Rent is $1,900/month per person, plus utilities (internet, electric, and gas). The room is available immediately, with a preference for someone who can sign onto a one-year lease beginning in October. About the apartment: I’ve lived here for four years and have genuinely loved the apartment and the neighborhood. It’s technically a three-bedroom, but the third bedroom is used as a shared home office/multi-purpose room, so there’s a lot more space than you’d typically get in a two-bedroom. The available bedroom is a great size and gets tons of natural light throughout the day. It has hardwood floors, a closet, and its own mini-split AC/heat unit, so you have control over the temperature in your room year-round. The apartment also has a large, furnished living room with a projector setup, a full kitchen, one bathroom, and laundry in the building. The common spaces are already furnished, but there’s definitely room to make the apartment feel like home together. The neighborhood: The apartment is a second-floor walk-up in Ridgewood, right near the Bushwick border, so you get easy access to both neighborhoods. It’s on a quiet residential block, but there are plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and other neighborhood spots within walking distance. We’re less than a 10-minute walk from both the L and M trains, which makes getting into Manhattan or around Brooklyn and Queens pretty easy. About me: I’m an attorney and work in the office four days a week, with Fridays usually spent working from home. Outside of work I’m into movies and TV, music, theatre, gaming, and occasionally baking. At home, I’m generally pretty quiet and like having a comfortable, relaxed space to come back to, but I also enjoy being friendly and social with the person I live with. I’ll occasionally have friends over or host a game night, but the apartment definitely isn’t a party house. I’d ideally like to live with someone who is friendly, respectful, communicative, and comfortable sharing the space rather than feeling like two strangers who happen to live in the same apartment.
