Hip. Modern. Unique. That's it in a nutshell, words describing this Mid-Century Modern home, custom designed and built in 1966. Based in Sudbury Massachusetts, Stanmar Leisure Homes were marketed and sold as vacation homes throughout New England. Fast forward 60 years to 2026 and you'll find a meticulously updated home inside and out. Nestled on a.68A lot with mature trees and plantings, front and back decks connect to the outdoors with glimpses of the Adirondacks to the west and Green Mountains to the east. Step inside the sky blue door to a mudroom (a necessity in Vermont) then into the main house with hardwood floors through most of the rooms. The lower level features a cozy sitting/reading space with bookshelves, a woodstove on a slate hearth and a curved bench topped with wood. A pellet stove in the hall provides additional heat. Under the staircase and behind a door with vintage refrigerator hinges, a storage closet holds pantry supplies. Two bedrooms, a full bath, and a utility room/laundry are off the hall. The staircase is a work of art, with pine treads and railings crafted by a previous owner/woodworker whose craftsmanship runs throughout the house. Ascend the stairs to the upper level with vaulted ceilings and wood beams. The great room with windows facing north, south and east offers ideal views of sunrises and sunsets. Living and dining areas are separated from an updated kitchen by a counter height, wood topped bar. Base cabinets are cherry, uppers are painted in dusty blue, the counters are soapstone and the stainless appliances are top of the line. A primary bedroom has an adjoining 3/4 bath, good-sized closet and access to the yard from a back deck. The 2 car post and beam garage has room for lawn and garden supplies. Need more storage? Check out the loft! A covered walkway connects to the house. Want a night out? Enjoy South Burlington's City Center restaurants and shops. Explore nearby parks, paths and open spaces.
