Muhammad al-Idrisinei mandava al suo sultano resoconti dei viaggi nelle terre straniere. Arrivato in Sicilia, nei pressi di Scicli scoprì un luogo magico in cui una fonte sgorgava acqua cinque volte al giorno, in orari ben precisi ma la cosa più particolare è che questo fenomeno corrispondeva alle ore delle preghiere mussulmane. Questo luogo magico venne chiamato ayn al-awqt, ovvero 'la fonte delle ore', che latinizzato divenne Donnalucata. Purtroppo questa fonte non è più stata trovata, probabilmente era dovuta all'azione del mare che durante le basse maree mostrava le sorgenti d'acqua dolce nelle "Ugghie" sul lido di Micenci. Una cosa è certa: quando si arriva su queste coste, la magia si percepisce nell'aria. Sto viaggiando in questo periodo per scoprire nuove case per voi e come vi starete accorgendo mi sto lentamente ed inesorabilmente innamorando della Sicilia. Devo dire che ogni volta che visito una proprietà non posso scindere tra visita lavorativa e desiderio di trasferirmi e anche questa volta, scoprendo per voi cosa si celava dietro un muro ed una porta non ho potuto resistere all'atavico impulso di immaginarmi già a casa. Oggi non è stato affatto difficile, chi mi conosce sa quanto amo le ampie terrazze, a maggior ragione se mi permettono di godere una vista sul mare in compagnia di Alf, il mio placido amico a quattro zampe. Avere un'ampia terrazza già con una cucina attrezzata è veramente il massimo; si è naturalmente protetti dai raggi diretti del sole o dall'arrivo improvviso della pioggia. Avere un ampio solarium sul tetto garantisce la privacy e la tranquillità di potersi abbronzare nei mesi in cui i turisti "invadono " le spiagge ed io ed Alf preferiamo restare nei nostri alloggi. Un appartamento di due camere è perfetto per me e mio marito, ci consente di avere vicini i figli quando arrivano a trovarci o di ospitare degli amici, senza dover richiedere aiuti esterni per la pulizia di casa. E poi c'è l'ingresso, la mia gioia. Qui, nel lungo viale, ho piantato ormai di tutto, le mie talee stanno diventando piante, le luci poste sapientemente permettono di ammirare di giorno e di notte tutti questi splendidi miracoli verdi che in questi giorni sono un tripudio di fiori. Nell' ex rimessa per barche e camper sono invece tornata a vivere il mio primo amore. Ho creato un laboratorio di ceramiche in cui tengo regolarmente dei corsi per le scolaresche, ripenso a quando abbiamo preso questa casa, ai grandi locali a piano terra con mattoni a vista che ora sono diventati la galleria delle mie opere. Ma dicevamo...questo è il mio sogno, voi cosa ne farete di questa splendida casa?

I have to say that whenever I visit a property I cannot divide between a work visit and a desire to move and again, finding out for you what was behind a wall and a door I could not resist the atavius impulse to imagine myself already at home. Today it has not been at all difficult, those who know how much I love the large terraces, for more reason if they allow me to enjoy a view of the sea in the company of Alf, my four-legged placid. Having a large terrace already with an equipped kitchen is really the maximum; it is of course protected from the direct rays of the sun or the sudden arrival of the rain. Having a large solarium on the roof guarantees the privacy and tranquility of being able to sunbathe in the months when tourists - invade - the beaches and Alff prefer to stay in our apartments. A two bedroom apartment is perfect for my husband and I, allows us to have the children close when they come to visit us or to accommodate friends, without having to ask for external help for the cleaning of the house. And then there is the entrance, my joy. Here, in the long avenue, I have planted everything now, my cuttings are becoming plants, the lights wisely placed allow you to admire all these splendid green miracles that in these days are a triumph of flowers. In the former shed for boats and campers I came back to live my first love. I created a ceramic workshop where I regularly keep courses for the schools, I think back to when we took this house, the large open brick ground floor rooms that have now become the gallery of my works.
