Its soul is in the medieval old town, one of the biggest in Europe, dotted in taverns, workshops and theatres, characterised by almost 40 kms of porticoes. In the city centre there is Piazza Maggiore, where the charm of medieval buildings is perfectly combined with modernity. Not to be missed are the Fountain of Neptune by Giambologna and the Medieval Towers, "Torre degli Asinelli" and "Torre della Garisenda", part of a rich cultural heritage preserved in several museums, art galleries and religious buildings.
